This winter: CHF 200 for every guest who spends 4 or more consecutive nights at the Waldhaus (including children aged 4 and up), in the form of a voucher valid for cable-car passes, the cross-country ski pass, lessons at the Corvatsch ski school, purchases or rentals at the Sils sports shops, horse-drawn carriage rides to the Fex.
Getting around: Free bus pass to all cable-cars, ski trails, winter walks and villages in the region. This includes Chiavenna and Soglio, too. (In summer the free use of the cable-cars and of the boat service on Lake Sils is included as well). Courtesy van from the hotel to the village and the Sils ski area, every half hour during the day.
Snow-how. A local ski instructor (www.skischule-corvatsch.ch) is at your disposal from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. at our reception desk for all questions regarding skiing and snowboarding, every day except Tuesdays and Wednesdays. You can also order lift tickets there (www.bergbahnenengadin.ch).
Swimming pool. Open daily from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. for resident guests (free of charge), from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for visitors from outside (CHF 14/ children 8).
Sauna and steam bath. For resident guests only. Free. Open daily 3 to 8 p.m., and by request** between 10 a.m. and 3.p.m. as well. **2 hours’ advance notice required, to avoid running it empty at full temperature all day.
Aqua Jogging in our pool, Tue. 1 p.m. / We. 9 and 9:45 a.m. / Thu. 9:30 a.m. (45 minutes). Free for resident Waldhaus guests.

Equipment: Need to rent or buy equipment? During the season, the two sports stores in Sils are open seven days a week (generally through 6:30 p.m. weekdays, 5:30 p.m. on Sundays).
Tennis on our indoor court. CHF 36 per hour between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.; CHF 46 between 3 and 11 p.m. Reservations at the concierge’s. Tennis pro Franz Maschler, available Mon. to Fri. after 6 p.m.; CHF 85 including court fee.
Happy skiing! Entirely rebuilt in 2008, the top section of the Corvatsch cable car has almost 40% more capacity, and a recently added chairlift on Furtschellas provides a comfortable and reliable link between Furtschellas and Corvatsch.
Snow shoeing, the peaceful winter alternative! (Please keep to set trails which do not disturb wildlife). Through mid-March, the ski school offers guided excursions once a week. Or set out on your own on a marked trail up on Furtschellas or on the new, extended trail on Muottas Muragl (for up to 3 hours and more, at an altitude of 8000-9000 feet).
Curling. Have you ever tried the old Scottish team sport with granite stones on ice? Regular tournaments on the Sils outdoor ice rink from mid-December to early February, open to non-members and less experienced players as well. Occasional free ‘novice’ group lessons after dinner.
Ice skating. Free public rink in the village, December to mid-March. (After that date, there’s the ‘kunsteisbahn’ ice rink in St. Moritz). Skating lessons: Liliane de Becker, phone 079 684 3742.
Corvatsch Snow Night. Every Friday, night skiing on Corvatsch from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. on a brightly lit 3-mile run. “Night bus” between Sils and Silvaplana/ St. Moritz
Waldhaus ski packages: “Holiday” and “Loipe”, with 6 overnight stays with half-pension and a ski pass (Holiday), or cross-country ski instruction and ski trekking (Loipe). Arrival dates: Dec. 16 (Fri. to Thu.), or – Sunday to Saturday – arriving on Jan. 8, Jan. 15, Jan. 22 and Jan. 29 or March 18 and March 25.
