What’s best about the Waldhaus isn’t actually the Waldhaus itself.
It’s what’s beyond our doorstep! All the lovely walks, for instance. Our whole region
provides an extraordinary range of beautiful opportunities, from peaceful strolls in the surrounding woods to challenging
climbs with a mountain guide.
Free to move around. The Waldhaus offers all its guests a free regional bus pass in
the area between Sils, Maloja, St. Moritz, Zuoz and Pontresina. Our summer and autumn guests get a bus pass of even wider
validity, even all the way to Val Bregaglia, to Soglio and to Chiavenna in Italy, and a pass to all cable cars and
chair lifts throughout the region.

We’ll show you the way! Five evenings a week, from June to October, a hiking
guide is available for all your questions regarding walks and excursions. Mon through Fri, our guide
also organizes and leads daily mountain walks in small groups, free of charge. And the Waldhaus has two useful
little brochures dedicated to our hiking guests, providing further ideas. The tourist office also organizes
guided hikes with various themes.
Mountain Bikes:
for rent at the hotel. Will you promise not to startle the hikers?
For those who aim higher, the association of local mountain guides regularly offers guided
tours in small groups, as well as private guides.
Or treat yourself to a day trip organized by the postal buses, a peaceful ride on a scheduled motor
boat on Lake Sils (approx. June 20 to early October), or a horse carriage or, more economically, the public horse
omnibus from Sils to the Fex Valley.
Some beautiful and strikingly different regions are within comfortable reach. Switzerland’s only national
park, for instance; or, descending the Maloja Pass, the Bregaglia valley and beyond it the
Italian border town of Chiavenna and the sunny shores of Lake Como. The nearest palm tree is only an hour’s drive
away! Across the Bernina Pass lies the beautiful southern valley of Poschiavo. Be sure to ask about our
brochures regarding Val Poschiavo and Val Bregaglia, written just for Waldhaus guests.
