The slopes
The linked ski areas of Sils-Furtschellas and Corvatsch offer 13 lifts and a wide array of slopes between 11,000 and 6,000 feet (3,300 and 1,800 m). In addition, there are the many slopes and lifts of St. Moritz and Celerina (7 miles from here) and of Diavolezza/Lagalb (13 miles away). Between them, these areas have spent CHF 350 m to improve their facilities in recent years.

Ski passes
You can order your ski passes at the Waldhaus in the evening and have them in your mailbox the next morning.

Getting around
Our shuttle brings you to the Sils ski area and the Sils-Maria stop of the public buses which link Sils to St. Moritz, Pontresina, Maloja and all the skiing areas in the region, at 30-minute intervals during the day.* Both are free for Waldhaus guests.  
*Between Sils and St. Moritz, there are night buses, too.

Right at the hotel
you can find out about slopes and trails and snow conditions and all the activities of the snow sports school, thanks to the presence of an instructor at our concierge desk every night, Friday to Monday (plus Thursdays in high season).

Cross-country skiers
will find superb conditions in this wide-open valley with its frozen lakes and airy forests. Second Sunday in March: Engadine Marathon. Snow sports school: private lessons.

Winter walks
Many miles of trails are also cleared in winter.

Ice skating
Large free open-air rink in Sils-Maria (from December to mid-March; year-round in St. Moritz). Skating lessons. ‘Curling’.

Sledding
Sledding run in the forest behind the hotel. In the neighboring Albula valley (train from St. Moritz), there is a 3-mile run from Preda to St. Moritz. Or for the bold, the Muottas Muragl run with a 2,000-foot drop. Sleds available at the hotel.
