A historic hotel is not for kids!

Families with children are very welcome at the Waldhaus. It’s one of the secrets and surprises of this beautiful old hotel that appears so solemn and serious.

of two and more connecting rooms, or for extra beds in the parents’ room or simpler rooms for youngsters.

Free day-care “Anitamation”: parents with plans of their own can leave their children (age 3 to 12) in the expert and loving care of Anita Bryner and her assistant Elisabeth Wallnöfer: 9 a.m to 12 and 2 to 6 p.m., daily except Sundays; free for resident guests. If desired, Anita or Elisabeth will also have lunch with them. In addition, our young guests will find a nice playground in the park. Anita’s program also includes walks to the nearby forests and lakes and, in winter, sledding parties and such.

Weekly children’s parties – usually on Tuesdays – are a good opportunity for getting to know other young guests.

Babysitting. We do not have an official service; but babysitting can be arranged on a case-by-case basis, at your own expense.

You can borrow a baby phone, as well as bottle warmers, tea makers, baby carriages or sleds, bike helmets or backpacks to carry babies.

Both children and adults will enjoy our many other facilities, such as the indoor pool, tennis (with pro), billiards and ping pong. In summer, you’ll find a miniature golf in the park, and mountain bikes for rent.

Snowsport school

In winter, a Sils ski instructor is ready to answer your questions most evenings, right here at the Waldhaus.

Free outdoor ice skating rink in the village (December through mid-March). Instructor available.

Equipment for sale and for rent: Sils has two excellent sports shops.

Half-pension. Children are every bit as welcome in our dining rooms as adults. Regular dinner hours start at 7 p.m., but families can informally start at 6:30 (or at 6 in your own room). Special children’s menus available.

Waldhaus-Memory: Remember “Concentration”, the memory game? There is a charming Waldhaus version (see Waldhaus gifts)
