You are here
Distance makes the heart grow fonder.
Do not be led astray by the village of “Sils i. D.” in a different part of Graubünden, nor by “St Maurice” in western Switzerland.
Our nearest train station is St. Moritz¹. Our driver will be happy to meet you there, free of charge, if you can tell us your arrival time in advance.
¹There is a Waldhaus hotel (‘house in the woods’) in St. Moritz as well. It's a good and lively place, but it's not ours, and there is no connection; so don't be confused!

ALTERNATE ROUTE to avoid the pass: at Landquart just before Chur, turn left to KLOSTERS and the VEREINA tunnel (car shuttle by train), tel. +41 81 288 37 37, www.vereina.ch. After the tunnel, it’s 55 km/ 35 mi. past St. Moritz to Sils. Driving time from Zurich: approx. 3 1/2 hours.
BY TRAIN: www.sbb.ch. During the day and until 8.30 p.m. hourly trains between Zurich main station and St. Moritz, travel time: 3 ½ to 4 hours.
Usually change trains in Chur => Albula (in exceptional cases in Landquart => Klosters/ Vereina). The Rhaetian Railway (RhB) Albula line Chur-St. Moritz is one of the most scenic and technologically most interesting lines in Europe. In 2008 the RhB’s Albula and Bernina lines received UNESCO World Heritage recognition, only the third train line to be considered “universally outstanding”. www.rhb.ch

BY TRAIN OR BUS: www.sbb.ch. Train links between Austria or Bavaria and the St. Moritz area are somewhat circuitous. Coming from Austria, you can speed things up at a price by treating yourself to a two-hour taxi ride from LANDECK to Sils (instead of some 5 hours by train).
