In this old and complex hotel, no two rooms are exactly alike. No two guests either, for that matter. That is not very practical. But interesting.

We have nine room categories, plus many combinations (of two connecting rooms) and a bevy of suites; and even within each category there are differences: new rooms and old ones (some even with the restored furnishings of 1908), rooms with balcony or without, with parquet floors or not, with a bathtub or a shower or both, and so forth.

And then there is the location! Standing on a hill above the village, the Waldhaus luckily has plenty of rooms with a view: east to Lake Silvaplana and Piz Corvatsch, north to the meadows and Sils-Baselgia, south to the Fex valley and the mountains that ring it, west to Lake Sils. Nowadays, west and south rooms are in high demand, and hence have a surcharge. Our ancestors thought differently and made the main facades face east and north. We suspect that they knew what they were doing, but the choice is yours.

It would take many pages to give you a description of every room. And if we firmly assigned a specific room to each reservation, our 140 rooms and the 10,000 guests who visit us each year would turn into a puzzle that would stump even the cleverest computer.

So we propose a compromise: Let’s just agree on a room category, rather than one specific room. But please feel free to tell us about your specific needs and preferences. If at all possible, we’ll try to satisfy them and/or to leave you a choice of rooms upon arrival, occupation permitting.

You can rely on one thing. The complex task of assigning rooms, as closely in accordance with guests’ wishes as possible, has our personal care and attention.
